Hi, I’m Ana and I’m blogging about anything greenhouse related. Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you find the information on the website useful 🙂 I’m passionate about growing fresh produce all year round and sharing my tips with all of you.
I started ‘Growing Greenhouse’ or ‘Grow in Greenhouse’ if you wish in summer 2017, a year after graduating with Bsc Hons degree in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Westminster, London, UK. It just felt right to combine my hobby with a passion for science and writing.
My hometown is Klaipeda, a small city in Lithuania. I was lucky enough to spend every summer on the beach with my three brothers and a very energetic dad.
Helping my grandma in her garden (picking up apples and eating them right away to be specific) felt like torture. Little did I know that it will be a dream a few years later when I came to London to study towards my Bachelor’s degree.
Forgot to mention that my grandmother had a stunning wooden frame greenhouse with glass glazing. I remember the first time I felt the joy of growing when a Biology teacher offered to participate in a school project.
We had to grow flowers of our choice and it was fascinating to choose the seeds, get the compost, water them and then see them blossom.
My parents always wanted a garden and eventually they got one with a greenhouse in it. So, that is how it all began! Us kids were helping out with taking cuttings, sowing seeds, installing guttering system and, of course, eating fresh produce!
Throughout my studies I was missing being out with my family in our garden but my mum made sure to keep me updated by sending tons of pics of early sprouts and blooming flowers (thanks, mum!). My parents have been gardening for over 20 years now and I am constantly learning from them!
I make sure to go back home at least 4 times a year and we enjoy spending time together in our garden 🙂
